Frequently Asked Questions

  • I work with adults (18+) who are looking for help figuring out their career paths. Whether you are just beginning your career, looking to make a transition, or returning to work after time away, you’ve come to the right place.

  • Yes, I work directly with all of my clients 100% of the time and don’t employ any contractors. My only “assistant” is my dog, Ollie, an incredibly lovable beagle/yellow lab mix who will often join my online meetings (but, truth be told, he usually sleeps through them). I can promise that he takes confidentiality very seriously.

  • In my practice I focus exclusively on career counseling, and if broader psychotherapy is appropriate for my clients I am happy to help with those referrals and coordinate with other therapists. I do not provide psychotherapy services to my career counseling clients. I find that if we try to cover too much ourselves, something tends to get neglected - it’s far more helpful and productive for us to keep our work focused on the career piece. If you’re not sure what you need, we can talk about it and figure it out together.

  • I’m in Baltimore County, Maryland, but I’m currently seeing all clients virtually. I do have an office but I’m not yet sure what my plan is for returning to in-person appointments.

While the majority of my clients are in Maryland, as a career counselor I am able to see clients anywhere. Please note that I am located in the Eastern time zone (US) so appointments are planned accordingly.

  • I offer appointments on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. I am located in the Eastern time zone (US) so appointments are scheduled accordingly.

  • You will receive the link to our meeting on a secure platform prior to our appointment. You will need:

    • A secure, working computer or mobile device with audio & video capabilities

    • A strong, secure internet connection (not free public wi-fi)

    • A private, comfortable, distraction-free location

    • A working telephone nearby in case we encounter any technological hiccups

At the beginning of each online appointment, you will be asked to confirm your location.

    • Intake appointment (90 minutes): $400

    • Follow-up meeting (50 minutes): $250

    • There is an additional fee for assessment, depending on which assessment(s) we decide to use.

I recognize that engaging in this work is a commitment of your time, your energy, and - yes - your finances. When you work with me, I commit to you as well. Maintaining a limited and focused roster of clients allows me to give you my best.

The fees listed above are the rates for new clients. I do raise my fees for existing clients on an annual basis, but any rate changes will be discussed with plenty of notice.

Payment is due at the time of service. Since all meetings are currently being conducted online, I accept payment via credit card and use a secure, encrypted platform to do so. When in-person meetings resume, cash/check will also be accepted.

  • I do not participate with any insurance plans. Please keep in mind that insurers do not cover or reimburse for career-related services (e.g., career counseling, career coaching, career assessment), as these are not considered to be medical or mental health services and this work is not intended to be direct treatment for any illness, disorder, or disability.

  • 48 hours’ notice is requested to change or cancel a meeting. This is because your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you and I am not likely to be able to fill the slot with notice that is too short. Appointments that are canceled or changed without 48 hours’ notice will be charged at the full rate for a 50-minute meeting. Your card on file will be charged on the day we were scheduled to meet. If an intake appointment is missed without appropriate notice, that appointment will not be rescheduled.
